One of the finest modernist sculptors to emerge from South Africa during the 1960s and 70s, Legae was a member of the Amadlozi group. In these two surreal bronze goats, the simplified, elongated forms and alert stances give visual expression to the spirit of Africa that shaped the group’s work.
