The Living Currency brings Mahlangu’s vivid Ndebele visual language into dialogue with older forms of value and exchange. Through patterned fields of colour, cattle become symbols of wealth, sustenance and continuity, linking home, land and community to an economic history that predates coins, banknotes and the modern financial system.
